Labial surgery has become increasingly popular with many women realizing that they are not alone when it comes to embarrassment and discomfort involving the labia. Labiaplasty addresses the labia minora, the part of the female genitalia that covers the clitoris like a hood. These labia can be genetically large and protuberant or may have been stretched by pregnancy. They can become painful, irritated during intercourse and cause discomfort in everyday clothing as well as in training gear (cycling and riding).
Labiaplasty involves surgical trimming of the labia minora. The end result will be more cosmetically acceptable labia and a more confident and comfortable you. Dr Patel will explain the extent of the incision and scar as well as possible complications with illustrative examples at the time of your consultation. The procedure can be done in the consulting rooms.
Labial augmentation of the labia majora or outer labia can be performed with fat grafts or with HA fillers. The mons pubis, the mound above the vagina is liposuctioned to provide a more harmonious contour between the lower abdomen and the pubic area (covered by a bikini).
