Male breast development can be a socially embarrassing and debilitating issue for men. Most breast tissue formed in teenage years will regress by 18 to 20 years of age. However, in some cases the breast tissue forms unsightly breasts or persists into adulthood. There are many causes of gynaecomastia and Dr Patel will go through a history and thorough examination before deciding on a treatment option for you.
This rather awkward situation can be treated successfully with a surgical procedure. The excess breast tissue can be treated with liposuction if there is a small amount of tissue or excised through a small cut around the areolar in a half circle fashion if there is more breast tissue present.
This procedure has a high satisfaction rate and is suitable for teenagers to adult men. Dr Patel will assess the amount of breast tissue and the need for any further tests during your consultation.
